If you are someone who finds it hard to make time for your own writing, the Shut Up & Write Online Chapter can be a great way to set aside a small amount of time each week and do some of that writing that you have always wondered about or never quite got around to.
It provides the companionship and accountability of writing buddies and RSVP’ing, without the intimidating aspects of having to go to a coffee shop and be seen publicly doing “writing”. This calendar shows the events that I host, and there are 75 odd other people (at the time of writing) around the globe who also host virtual rooms that you can join.
When I first started hosting, people that joined my events often ran into familiar faces from other events they attend. Others, like me, only attend specific sessions that fit in with their schedules. With so many people hosting now, you are bound to find a session regardless of when in the world is your preferred writing time!
The host is there to help you out if you have questions about the “Shut Up & Write” process, but there really is no way to “do it wrong” if you are getting what you want out of participating!
